Synagogues around the world

Hatikvah, 2000 years of waiting

A significant number of synagogues were destroyed during the Spanish, Ukranian Cossack and Russian progroms (= from Russian 'to destroy') between the 14th and 19th centuries. The unspeakably cruel Spanish Inquisition, Cossacks and Tsars are gone, but Israel is back.

Before and during World War 2 (1933-1945), the German National Socialists destroyed 33,914 Jewish Houses of Worship, called Synagogues. The Nazi's are gone, but Israel is here today to stay.

In 1948, the Arab Palestinians destroyed or desecrated 58 synagogues in Jerusalem. Today, they are morally bankrupt, and Israel is thriving (Gen12).
